Partial PVD

I was recently assaulted, and immediately experienced one-eyed double-vision (the other eye is barely functional with amblyopia since birth).  So far all practicioners are telling me that I have monocular diplopia as a result of the assault (a very hard blow to the head immediately between the eyes) causing a partial p.v.d. that is seemingly inoperable.  I was shown the detachment on an OCT report/print.  The advice is to learn to deal/live with the monocular diplopia.

Is this the best I can expect?

Thank you,
Dennis

I've gotten second and third opinions, ...ad nauseum.  I've been seen at Jules Stein @ UCLA, Doheny @ USC, UCI, Harvard Eye Assocs @ Laguna Hills.  Some of the M.D.'s are A. Sadun, L. Chong, L. Lerner, J. Hovanesian, R. Ohanesian.

All are in agreeance.  I've seen the term "traumatic eye injury" on well more than one chart.  Started with Ophthomalogist -> Retinologist -> Neurologist -> Retinologist -> JSEI Retinology -> Neuro-Ophthomalogist -> Ophthomalogist (different) -> Retinologist (different) -> UCI Retinology -> Ophthomalogist (#2) -> Doheny Retinology -> Doheny Neuro-Ophthomalogy.  Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I don't really believe a PVD by itself would cause a PVD so perhaps there is more to the story.  I'm not very accepting of what you are saying - it seems that there should be a better explanation and a possible treatment.  I would get a second opinion.
