Possible Eye infection?

I am new to this website and hope I am posting this in the right place. I wanted to get some medical advice before I see a doctor, as I am without health insurance right now. I woke up Saturday morning with irritated eyes! They were very watery, stinging, and eyes were fairly pink (eye lids and tear duct area very pink). I put some contact lens solution in my eyes, as I was out of eye drops. By yesterday they seemed to get better, other than in the evening I noticed two lumps of green discharge forming in the inside corners of both eyes. My eyes seem a little better this morning but they go between itching/burning sensations. What could this be from? Should I be going to the doctor or should I let it heal on its own?

Also, I went to my general care doctor today, as I need a referral for the opthalmologist and she gave me eye drops, Moxeza. She didn't tell me what exactly what it was, just that it was an infection. Should I still see an opthalmologist, or was the general doctor good enough?

Thank you, do you think the eye symptoms could be connected to my nose symptoms? I woke up the same morning with the inside of nasal passages to be extremely sore, blotchy red, yellow crusty, and tender to the touch. Could that be bacterial too?

You need to see an ophthalmologist.  Green discharge is a sign of a bacterial infection.
