Problems with Glasses

I just recently start college after being out of school for 5 years. After the first week of school I started noticing that after reading for a long period of time I would get really bad headaches behind my eyes, after a week my eye's were all blood shot and I was have problems focusing on words close up. I took a couple days off of reading my headaches went away and I could focus my eye's on words close up again.  I went to see for an eye exam and was perscribed bifocials, Primarily for reading and looking at the black board. I got my glasses yesterday. When I wear my glasses my eyes seem to burn like their dry. I am still getting my headaches, usually when I take my glasses off and have to readjust my eyes. Also when I put my glasses on sometimes and read small words the words are a little blurry. Is this because I periodically use my glasses through out the day or is it that my script is wrong?

If you are in your late 30's or early 40's your problem could be normal aging presbyopia. If you're younger you could have high hyperopia or you could have convergence insufficiency or dry eyes.

If the "eye doctor" you saw was not a physician (Doctor of Medicine) ophthalmologist then I would make an appointment to see one very soon. You should take your glasses with you.  You should ask for a schirmer tear test and a pre- and post- cycloplegic refraction.
