one night i did have a single white flash in my eye, it light up the whole of my eye, but since then ive been fine.
But they werent lightning bolts, or arcs like a proper lightning its hard to describe.
Hi
since i've posted this, ive had no flashes or 1 a day, its all but stopped.
Flashes aren't the central or near cental stars you see when you get up. They are like a small arc or bolt of light or lightning in the periphery (could be below, above, right or left). Sounds like that may be what is going on. You should call the eye clinic and have them examine you sooner than 6 weeks. At least inform them that you are having the episodes and see what they say about follow up.

When you say a new burst of flashes of lights what do you mean?
I know what im seeing is not flashes of light as I know exactly what they are, I've had them when ive got up far too quickly before and it looks like stars.
These things occuring I can feel them happen, I know it sounds weird but I can feel them happen.
Plus these shimmers or whatever they are, happen right infront of my eye. Its not like floaters or flashes of lights that are a further infront of my vision, these things are like right below my eye. Does that make sense?
One thing to note is that I have noticed these things subside recently. Ive got them less and less throughout the day and only seem to get them at night before I go to bed now.
I usually see patients back within 4 weeks. Key here is for you to pay attention for a new burst of floaters or flashes of light (require reexamination within 24 hours) or a dark (black or gray ) curtain comming over your vision from the periphery toward the center (that would be an emergency= retinal detachment).
