Red eyes, foggy vision

Red eyes, foggy vision

I've been getting midge bites around my face and my left eyelid and started rubbing it.  Thinking that I've contracted conjunctivitis, I went to my doctor and he prescribed an eye ointment for me.  I've been apply the ointment and keeping the eye clean.  Unfortunately, my eye doesn't seem to be getting any better.  It's still very red and now the fog I've been seeing through my left eye is getting thicker and the red has not gone away.  Please help-my job requires me to look at the computer and at small print all day.

Specificaly see an Eye MD ophthalmologist. When you see ask if the infection is cleared if you might use a mild steroid like FML or Alrex for a short time (5-6 days) to clear up the inflammation AND stay away from the midges.
