Retina Damage

Hello ! Sir...I am 35 years old, i had an accident(Chemical Injury) last May,2007. Some glass pieces and Acids (Sulphuric acid & Perchloric acid) had gone inside the left eye and cut the cornea, lens and burns Retina portion. Now, Cornea and eye pupils set by surgeons but Retina is no longer. So i can not see from left eye. As per Doctor statement there is no any technique for Retina. Is it true ? Treatment was given by Dr.Nagpal-Ahmedabad-Gujarat-INDIA.
Pl advice me. Now i am 100 % blind from left eye. Retina is not working.
If there is some hope....pl advice me....
Thanks

If the eye is 100% blind (no light perception) the chances of making it see again are remote and you had best protect and preserve the vision in the other eye.

Get a second opinion from another Eye MD on both your eyes. If that Eye MD says you eye cannot be helped then accept it.

Dear Sir...Dr.John.C.Hagan
Thanks for your comment... As per doctor i am 100 % blind from Left Eye and Overall blindness(Both Eyes) is 30 %.
If someone falls heavy light ( e.g. Torch, Halogen...) in to my Damage eye (left eye), i can feel it. And also i can count fingers from appx. 1 feet. but it is all dark in black colour. iris is totally damage. So some vision is there.. What you say ? May i have some chances in future... ?

Dear Sir

I am high myopic patient . From last few months am suffering Floaters in my right eye  .
But there is no any complaint of 'lighting effect ot Haf back curtain'..is it necessary that it would lead to Retiana Detachment. From last one year I did not pay much attention to nutition ,,and i feel that this problem is because of lack of vitamins and good nourishment .  ,,,Is it that every High Myiopic petient will face the Degeneration and it would lead to retiana detachment ??  can I STOP the degeneration and Detaichment by Good Nourishment ???  Kindly Suggest ..  Am wooried, i do not want to loose eye-sight .

Regards / Samiksha

Nutrition pays no role in posterior vitreous detachments or progressive myopia. If you have only floaters but not an INCREASE of them, no flashes, no loss of peripheral vision no reduction of vision then an office visit is probably not necessary.

Dear Sir.  I have floating lines and squiggles in my line of sight.  Could this be an after effect of my eyes being exposed to an extreme amount of light and heat while repairing helicopter type search lights without wearing protective eyewear?

thank you, Kevin

NO.   Use the search feature and look up "Floaters".

is it normal to notice flashes and small floaters in the eye 2 wks post op (bubble and buckle). Ive noticed to the outer side of the bubble there is a very small black bubble/dot...that comes and goes.
I have maxidex which i was told dilates my eyes..when will it go back to normal? And will my white part ever return to nromal colour?

What about a droopy eyelid? Before the op, i was meant to be like +8.5 and i was told day after that I will prob be +10, so will be really myopic more than i am now. he said i can still drive which is amazing. Does making the eye ball longer mean the eye lid goes droopy
