Suspected Irregular Astigmatism

I think I have a irregular astigmatism as a result of  pterygium surgery.

I had surgery to remove a ptyerigium in my left eye using conjunctival autograft three weeks ago. Since removing the eye patch the day after the surgery, my vision in the operated eye has been very blurred. I am very concerned as I had 20/20 vision prior to the surgery and now I cannot make out anything except very large bold text.
I expressed my concern and he did seem surprised that my vision was poor when compared to my usual good vision prior to the surgery. However, he explain the cornea was still healing and he was confident my vision would improve in the next four weeks.

Three weeks from surgery I am losing confidence. Can my eye still correct itself returning to its normal focus?????

1. Yes
2. Ask for an endpoint refraction. that will determine how much of your blur is due to refractive error and regular astigmatism.
3. If the problem persists then a corneal topography test and a refraction with a gas permeable contact lens on the eye can measure irregular astigmatism.
