Vitreous degeneration

I just had cataract surgey and two days later I started seeing a cloud in one eye when looking from side to side. The retina specialist said I have mild vitreous deneration. My eyes are healthy and I have 20/20 vision in each eye now. Could the cataract surgery have caused it?  Is it possible for it to stabalize or resolve itself or does it always progress? He made light of it but it is my sight after all so I would like to be sure.

Thank you, I appreciate the response. I'm hoping it gets better but may be fooling myself.

It is likely a posterior vitreous detachment which is a normal part of the aging process.  Cataract surgery could speed it up.  As long as you don't have flashes of light, new floaters, or a dark curtain or shadow come up you could simply see the retina surgeon periodically to make sure all is OK.  If you get any of those symptoms or anything else that concerns you, call and see them again.
