What is the most ideal for my prescription?

What is the most ideal for my prescription?

Hi Team medhelp,

my eye prescription
OD -13.50 -2.00 x20
OS -12.00 -2.00 x150

I know that I am a good candidate for LASIK but right now I still have no budget for it and also I have no free time for the recovery period. I am considering buying a 1.74 Nikon high index lense and i would like to know whatt would be the advantages? Would it still be too thick? Would it still make my eyes smaller when I wear it. Would it make my vision clearer because I read that high index lens has an ABBE of 32 and the normal is 58. . I am right now wearing contact lenses but it irritates my eyes that is why i am considering eyeglasses. Thanks in advance for your support

I would get the thinnest lenses that you can afford.  You will appreciate the reduced weight and improved appearance.

Hi,
I'm a fellow myopic from Germany.
I don't know whether you are a good candidate for LASIK. To my knowledge Lasik works for eyes up to -8 diopters.

I am wearing glasses with a small lens width of only 42 mm. The glass has a high index of 1.9 and I am very pleased with them. They are not thick at all.
(My prescription is OS -10,5D;cyl. -0,75D; OD -13,75D; cyl. -2,25D)
Here in Germany I got a pair of these lenses at 220 euros on the internet.(about 300 $)
Branded ones are much more expensive: Zeiss Lantal 1.9 or Rodenstock Rodalent.
