Recently had cataract surgery on left eye with an IOL set for distant vision. Objects now appear to be magnified when viewed with the left eye vs. the right eye. I have uncorrected 20/30 in the left eye and worse than 20/40 in the right eye. Following the surgery I got new glasses with the following prescription: Right: sphere -3.0 Cylinder +1.0 axis 170 :::: Left sphere +0.5 Cylinder 0.5 axis 145. For near vision both eyes +2.5. When I wear these glasses, the magnification effect worsens and I cannot tolerate the confusion that results. With close vision, I perceive double images. My opthomologist says that this problem can be corrected by contact lenses or by going ahead with cataract surgery in right eye, which corrects now to 20/30. My question is (1) are there any other options, (2) should I expect contacts to fix the problem (3) Is cataract surgery on right eye the way to go, and what is probability it will fix problem?
