It is extremely important that you see an ophthalmologist right away since you probably have bleeding in the retina or vitreous or both and this is a very serious sign of things like a retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, retinal hemorrhage, retinal vascular disease and more. This is very important, and a very serious symptom.

I have been to an ophthalmologist already and he couldn't see any damage to the retina because of the blood. He indicated that the blood would dissapate on its own and that there would be no further bleeding, which there hasn't been. I am to see him again in 3 weeks. Do you think that he was correct in telling me that this will correct itself? My vision will improve after the blood disappears. What are your thoughts? Thank you.
