cataract surgery after radial keratonomy and possible complications

I had RK done in the eighties and developed a cataract in my left eye..I had a lense replacement in June and the operation went ok but I have been to four doctors after the surgery as I became unbalanced and dizzy soon after I got my replacement  glasses.  I thought it was my sinus and allergies and went to all these drs. including two ENT's and Allergists although my vision got better after I finally got the correct prescription for my glasses...I am not as dizzy or unbalanced but I still feel like I have allergies or sinus problem or both...I have purchased at least twenty different prescriptions and even had allergy testing and have purchased ionizers.humidifier on my furnace and incased all my bedding in case it was dust and still have this pressure in my nose andbits of lightheadedness every day.  My eye doctor mentioned that my operation is difficult as I had RK  and I am wondering if you have heard of the same symptoms ?  I am very independent and I for a while thought I would have to go live with family as it was that bad...Next week my allergist will start giving me shots for the allergens I tested positive for..I have never been bothered before with allergies or sinus so she had an MRI done and it looked alright.  My eye doctor mentioned that there may be such a difference in the operrated eye and my other eye that makes me feel this way.  I am 60 years old andwould like to  know if you have known other patients with this type of complications after this surgery and will it gradually get better

Thank you for your quick response...yes I guess I didn't give you specific information..I went back to the eye doctor but she is the head of a very well-known Eye clinic and always seems too busy to listen to her patients and looks at my eye and says perfect and this time I told her to listen as I can't continue to go on like this.  I neglected to tell you that my first lenses after surgery were prescribed by what I call a first day doctor student I didn't know this at the time although I suspected something when he seemed to not know how to use the equipment and he not only messed that up but left me in a room with malfunctioning air blasting on me for an hour and two days later I was sick as a dog and went to get the temporary glasses and started to become dizzy and unbalanced to the point  I went to emergency and started to go to ent's who specialized in dizziness and allergists and tests and pills.  Each time I went back to this dr. she would not let me speak and said everything was fine in my eye.  I have spent thousands of dollars trying to get treated and when I got the correct leanses from a real doctor my dizziness stopped but I still had this pressure between my nose and a slight feeling of dizziness when I turn my head and my nose runs..I just went back to the eye dr and in usual frenzy in and out of the office I managed to ask her if it might be irregular astigmatism..so now she turns to me and says well that may be the problem and she will send me for a contact which will cost a lot of money and my reply was will it help and she said she didn't know but that it probably wasn;t sinus or allergies but my body trying to reject the imbalance so I don't know what to believe at this point but I am going monday for the contact and tuesday for the first series of allergy shots what a mess.  I have the latest prescription and will try to type it below...please tell me if you think there is such an imbalnce to cause these symptoms   thanks,

Yes, the difference between the eyes could absolutely be cause of your symptoms.  I'm surprised that this has not been clearly figured out.  A contact lens in the "off balance" eye might be the best bet to balance things out, otherwise the other eye may need to have cataract surgery.  You really haven't given me any concrete information about the results of your surgery and the prescription in the two eyes.  All in all, I am not at all surprised at your situation.  I suspect that the other eye may need to be done.
By the way there are other problems that could be contributing like irregular astigmatism.  I have one patient who has to wear a hard contact lens on top of a soft contact lens to deal with the terrible irregular astigmatism due to the RK.
