What does this change in vision mean?

I went to a new eye doctor a few days ago and my Rx for glasses (i have astigmatism) had an sph of 4.00 for my left eye...just last year the number was 4.75 and the year before that it was 4.25...what does this mean?! The new doctor refuses to answer my question until I come for another formal appointment...next week! I am feeling a little worried about my eye health and would love to have some sort of insight!

There is very little change in any of those lens. the minimal chage is + or - 0.25 diopters.  you sphere has only change .25 diopters your cylinders .025 and .50 and the direction of the astimagism is less than 10 degrees. (I suspect the 2007 OS axis is written wrong

Oh, sorry for the lack of info...the doctor is an O.D. and the prescriptions are:

2008- od -5.00 -1.75 x 011   and  os -4.00 -2.75 x156
2007  od -5.00 -1.75 x 010   and  os -4.75 -2.50 x107
2005  od -5.00  -225  x 005  and  os -4.25 -2.50 x155

Can you tell me what is going on with the left eye? Thanks for you first quick response:)

What kind of "doctor" is that? If it is a plus (+) sphere it means you are farsighted (short eye) if it is a minus sphere (-) it means you are myopic (long eye) If you have a lopsided eye it will be listed as the second number "cylinder" and the third number "axis".
