cause for spherical aberration?

F_N
From the middle of my lense to the edge I have -5 to -2,75 dpt (left) and -5,75 to 3,50 dpt (right). The difference is over 2 dpt.
I see around every light a sphere oder multiple pictures of the light. In the dark, when the pupil is
wide open, this effect is extremely. I have this problem on both eyes. And it becomes worse from year
to year.

I made different test to find out the cause of this problem. I know, that normally the reason lies in the cornea.
But the cornea looks normal (OrbScan). The retina looks normal, too. No abnormity at the lense bag.
With the method of elimination the reason for this problem must be the lenses.
But I am not sure. If this was the reason, a clear lense operation will help me. My Doc says, the chance for eliminating
this problem by changing my lenses with synthetic lenses, is 80:20.

So my question is: Do you now a test to find out, if the cause of a spherical aberration which causes an
difference of over 2 dpt lies in the lenses of my eyes?

Just this is the problem: I have no ubnormal cornea. I have no cataract. but i have this high aspherical aberration. my doc said, that he has never seen things like that.
the suspicion is, if all is ok, the reason for my problem must be the lenses. i have pictures of the orbscan and of the wave front analysis. i can send this to you.
the only ubnormal thing is a small break inside of the cornea in the left eye outside the optical array. the reason was an snowball, a kid through in my eys when i was 12. this is only on one side. i have the problem on both sides. this small break is seen on the orb scan. but nothing else.

I suspect you may be talking about power differences in the cornea.  I am surprised that orbscan was normal.  Normally, cataract surgery or clear lens extraction is not done to correct spherical abberation but rather to correct cataract and blurred vision and also to help correct refractive error.  I don't understand why doctor is going over spherical abberation with you - it is really an issue that is higher order optics and over most patients' heads.  I'm unclear why it was even brought up??  If your problem is a cataract then you may need cataract surgery.  If you have corneal disease, then that would need attention.  Again, cataract surgery, even with aspheric lens implants, is not usually done to correct spherical abberration numbers.  Your question is rather confusing to me?
