oh yes and i had excision done for the record. the first time it was done from underneath the eyelid but i returnded a week later because the chalazion was obviosly still present. the docotr said since it is on the outside he will try to remoive it from the outside. he said pus came out but i am wondering what are the chances of not all of it having come out? us second surgery advisable or can it heal by istelf with wamr compresses. sorry for the many questions.
thank you for that response, however i have pigmented skin so i have heard that steroid injections are not advisable for me. it was a small chalazion. is it safe to safe that if it has not dissapeared in 4 weeks i should go and see my doctor again? Do wamr compresses at this stage still help the healing process?
thank you
Totally normal question. It definitely takes time - maybe 3 or 4 weeks or much more sometimes depending on size. Sometimes even then there is residual and second surgery or injections are needed. I have tried to use injections mostly for last year with success as good as excision for small to medium sized chalazia.
