Research is ongoing to see if Avastin or Lucentis injections will be useful for this condition.  In the meantime, I he should speak with his retinal specialist to see if eye vitamins such as  preservision AREDS formula and lutein and omega 3 fish oil and billberry will be of any benefit.  I generally would recommend that for patients with macular degeneration which is at least slightly similar.

Thanks for reply.  Will these vitamins prevent from further degeration or improve the vision and how long should he take these vitamins?  My dad is 70 years old and underwent byepass surgery last year. At present he cannot read/write and recognize the person's face. Moreover no glasses suits his eyes. I have heard of screal buckling treatment for chorioretinal degeneration. please suggest.
