hi i've had strabismus surgery in jan 2010 with adjustable sutures months later he said wear prisms first 3 then 5 since then he left practice so i am going to wilmer at johns hopkins he said stop wearing prisms since i am fusing he gave me a 3d with picture of fly i still have some double he says main cause is multiple retina surgeries with strabismus as underlying factor my double now is little better if i turn my eyes slightly to left the image comes together hence i would like to see the double almost completely gone can this happen i always hear the brain has to adjust can it take some time for this to happen or will it be another surgery or prism  your answer is greatly appreciated

Wilmer Eye at JH is one of the worlds best centers plus he/she has examined your eye, so I can't really add anything. You should report your observation to the strabismus specialist.

Many patients who have worn prisms are unable to go without them.

That's as clear as we can make it. Strabismus problems especially require in person, real exams by Eye MDs.
