eye infection lost hope with a cure

Hi i was wondering if somebody could help me i have had some sort of strange eye infection for the past 7 months now, i have been back to the docs on several occasions with these symptoms : sore scratchy eyes, green gunky stuff floating around, my eyes sting when i close them , puffy especially in the morning, the inside of my bottom eye lid is extremly red and puffy to the point when i pull my eye lid down theres a certain part of my eye lid that will roll out from underneath my eye ball and with it comes alot of the green gunk.I have blood shot , hazzey and glazzy looking eyes most of the time,
i tend to find my eyes are alot worse in the morning, and the pain from under my eyes when i touch them feels as tho ive been punched in the eyes. My inside of my eyes are constantly puffy and sore and i just carnt carry on like this.
I know my explanation is not the most scientific but its the best way i can discribe it .
i have been to the doctors who first perscribed me with conjuntivitus drops, which did nothing to help me, i must have gone through about 6 boxes of eye drops for conjuntivitus , also artifical tears, to see if it was due to dry eyes i was getting this problem , but i had no luck , the problem is still there .
i have been to the eye clinic at the hospital who told me i had conjuntitus viral ? ' and it would take up to 6 weeks to clear, 4 months later and the problem is just as it was.
I just dont know where to turn anymore im at my ends with it, its making my life miserable, im not exaggerating when i say this constant irritation and pain is making me depressed its enough to make anybody feel depressed.
I find im waking up during the night because my eyes are so full with gunk the pain is causing me to have disturbed sleep which is makin me feel tired all day because my sleep pattern is being messed up . The inital first part of opening my eyes is so painful :( please can sombody shed a light on this, and help me sort this out :(

Hey~
I feel your pain. Last year I woke up with this SEVERE eye infection... my entire face was swollen. They told me (initially) that it was just pinkeye, and gave me drops. The drops DID NOT help. This went on for over three months. Every time I thought the infection was going away, it would come back with a vengeance. After the "pinkeye" finally cleared up, it had caused permanent damage. I no longer produce my own tears... it hurts especially bad in the mornings and at night. They think I have blepharitis (maybe that's what you have). I'm still desperately trying to get answers, but one thing that has helped IMMENSELY is Restasis. Just be wary... my doc told me to take the Restasis along with an antihistamine eye drop. My eyes got WORSE, and I finally discovered that antihistamines counteract what the Restasis does. Good luck!

Thank you for replying to my post, im just at the end of my teather with it all.Today my eyes just keep stinging if i close my eyes i get a real sore stinging feeling. i do take medication citalopram for depression and anxiety but its only 20mg , allergie wise, i am allergic to hair dye as i had a servere reaction to it about a year ago but dont have any other allergies that i know of.. when i ended up at the docs with servere burns from the dye reaction i couldnt understanad then why the doctor didnt send me to see a dermatologist incase i was allergic to anything else, as you can see i sort of dont know where to turn.
Its not somthing i should have to live with its just constant discomfort a pain.I will book another apointment with the doc and try get this sorted out once and for all.Its a shame your not my doctor lol that would be a god send,
anyway take care, and wish me luck i think im gonna need it

I think I have read your posts before. I'm sorry for your problems which in some part may be related to medication side effects, possible some very late nights partying and being around a lot of smoke and irritants.  You need personal attention from a local ophthalmologist and in the meantime try to take good care of yourself and avoid things like smoke, dust, lack of sleep, and things  that you might possibly be allergic to.  I'm sorry, but I can't be much more help from here.
