I agree with Dr. Fazio, my Optomotrist noted a shiny spot on my retina/macula and sent me to a retina specialist. It WAS an epiretinal membrane of which I had confirmed by 4 retinal specialists and several OCT tests.
ERM (epiretinal membrane - scar tissue) is like a layer of cellophane over different areas of the retina, hence the shiny reflection from the exam light.
Have it checked out by at least one retina specialist and have them show you the location and severity on the OCT test results.
Then, start your research if they suggest surgery (membrane peel/vitrectomy).
It is very hard to know what this is without an exam. It is possible that the shiny area is an epiretinal membrane, also called surface wrinkling retinopathy. I would see an ophthalmologist, preferably a retinal specialist, for a full exam.
