eyes

my three year old has to get new glasses every five months. her right eye is -19.5 and left eye -18.25 and cyl on both 6.5. and that was four months ago and at the rate she has been going they will be -22 and -21 on next visit.i know that is very bad but my family thinks she most likely will go blind. i have never really thought about that much until today when one of her lens fell out of her glasses and she had to go without them for about an hour. I had to carry her because she said you would fall because she couldn't see. I guess it got me to thinking what if she did go blind. Is there a reason to be concerned about that and if there is should i check on going ahead and doing some teaching for the blind to her?
thanks dana

You should not treat her as if she will go blind nor should EVER have it intimated that she will. See a pediatric ophthalmologist and/or retina EYE MD at least yearly and expect the best.
