how long does it take for double vision to go away and if your eye doesnt go up and down what happens next will i always see double because of my eye muscles not going up and down

I had muscle surgery back on May of 06... I've been w/ double vision aka diplopia for almost 4 years...I've been to manny eyeMD ( docs seem to be unable to really help people like us.. ).   To be honest, learn how to use a patch, cover a lens with either black tape or black nail polish & don't let it drive you mad/crazy..... I myself am at the doorof crazyness..... Good luck to you...........

I woud speak with your eyeMD about your situation.  Sometimes, as the swelling goes away, the double will diminish.
