laser peripheral iridotomy

Question for an opthalmologist or Glaucoma Specialist-

After having  a laser peripheral iridotomy I begun to see a horizontal line in my visual field.
Can this visual distortion be eliminated with special contact lenses or tinted glasses?
Thank you.

This line can be seen after a LPI especially if the opening is at the top of the iris. It often gets better with time. I have never had to treat a patient for that problem. Nor in the medical journals are there any papers about it. If it is a problem you could try them under the direction of the Eye MD.

I obtained two prophylatic peripheral iridotomies in each eye as part of a phakic implant procedure. I also experienced visual abberrations of three or four horizontal lines that cut thru my field of vision, as well as marked glare and ghost images.  It was difficult to convince the opthamologists as to the severity of my visual distortions (I do believe that my case may be relatively rare and that having light blue irises as well as the size of the iridotomy may play a part).  However, an optometrist suggested that I try dark-pigmented cosmetic contact lens.  This helped me significantly with the abberrations (unfortunately, I could not tolerate the lenses).  You might try the following: "Fresh Look" cosmetic contact lens, custom-made contact lens that can completely occude the iridotomy, and actively try to avoid focusing on the abberation as this will help your brain to "tune" out the image.
