red Dot in eye

This afternoon I noticed a red dot in my eye and I don't feel any discomfort.  I am worried and I don't know if it's going to go away?  How long would it take?

Thanks.

Some one’s hand hit on my eye, I found small red dot on my eyes. I can able to see properly, and there is no pain. Will the red dot become bigger later? Is it necessary to go to ophthalmologist for this problem?
Thanks.

If it looks like a small hemorrhage of blood on the white of the eye it is called a subconjunctival hemorrage and should go away in about 7-10 days.  If you have pain, loss of vision, discharge you should see an ophthalmologist.  If you are very concerned about it, it is still probably a good idea to see an ophthalmologist just to set your mind at ease.
