Lipodermoid

My daughter is 3 and half months old. Doctor advised us that she has lipodermoid on her left eye. Can you please advise if we should go ahead to have it removed? What implication there might be if we do? What implication if we do not? Is there any photos of cases after lipodermoid removal?

Dear Doctor MJK,

We were hoping someone might be able to tell us about cases they have encountered. We did see the young 7 year old picture posted here recently. I would like to see pictures of those after it has been removed if possible.

I believe a young woman posted a picture of one recently on this forum.  If daughter indeed has lipodermoid then this represents a benign growth.  Excision would be optional, I believe.  I don't want to make any more  commments about your daughter's case because I am not her physician.  I recommend you consult a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist and let him/her take it from there.
