small dark spot on rim of eye

I just noticed a very small dark spot on the rim of my eye coloring.  Its not debris, its on my eye.  I can feel it and it is irritating my eye and making it red.  What do you think it is?  On the internet this is a symptom of eye cancer.  Does this sound like a skin cancer or eye tumor?

It doesn't sound like cancer HOWEVER see an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a exam. Find one at www.aao.org
