Can you please post back to us again and clarify. This whole situation sounds awful. How bad were your floaters? What options were discussed regarding the floaters? I imagine that they must have been quite severe, or perhaps quite a bit of leftover blood in the vitreous that would not resolve. Generally it is quite rare to have surgery for floaters. I recently referred a patient for surgical evaluation with a retinal specialist for floaters but they were so dense and severe that I could just bare see vague details of her retina. She has a condition called asteroid hyalosis with thousands of white floaters.
I went to a optician as i was having trouble with blurred vision and could not see normally 10% of the time. Went to a specialist and he said he would have to remove the floaters they were covering my vision.vitrectomy by posterior chamber sclerotomy. While performing the op my retina was torn in2 places 6 weeks later i had a lot of pain in my eye returned to the surgeon and he found a hole in my macula another op and i had my lens removed lazer and buckles put in. 3 months later he took the gas out and said to give it time the sight may get a little better and he could not help me any more. to come back if i had problems
