Hi, i have been having heart pains for the last month. The other day the pain was worse than ever. When i was little i had a heart condition, but the doctors said that i was fine after a while. I don't know if i should be worried about it. If you need any more information let me know and i ll be happy to provide it.

I also have a question along these lines. I am of yound age (less than 18 to be exact. I have been experiencing lots of heart pain, and the occasional random chest pain. It's all I can think about and effects my work quality. I exercise aerobically every day and do plenty of sit-ups. I used to put salt on a lot of stuff, but gave that up awhile ago. The pain has been recent... any suggestions?
Hello - thanks for asking your question.
Without examining you, it is impossible to say what you have. Here are some thoughts.
With your young age, it is unlikely that coronary artery disease is causing your chest pain. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a disease that should be screened for, especially in young adults. This can be done with an echocardiogram, which can be discussed with your personal physician.
A more likely cause would be muscle or GI pain. Typical causes of GI pain includes GERD, ulcers, or inflammation of the stomach or esophagus. An upper GI series would be a reasonable test to evaluate for GI disorders.
If those tests are negative, then a musclular cause should be investigated. A physical therapy consult or evaluation by a physiatrist (a rehabilitation doctor) may be helpful.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
