CONCERNED

AT AGE 23 DIG. WITH DESMOID TUMOR UPPER LEFT THIGH
REMOVE AND 3 SURGERYS PERFORMED WITH IN 12 MONTH OF EACH OTHER
INTERNAL RADIATION AND OUT PATIENT TREATMENT.
PROCEDURE DONE AT SLOAN KETTERING NYC
EVERY 6 MONTHS I WAS INTENDED FOR FOLLOW UPS, WHICH OF COURSE I DIDNT DO...
NOW AT AGE 43, I NOTICE A LUMP ABOVE THE SCAR AND I HAVE HAD TIRED RESTLESS LEG AND STIFFNESS WHEN SITTING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME...I HAD A MRI RECENTLY THAT REVEALED FLUID RETENTION IN THE AREA, UNSURE OF ANY TUMOR, MRI WITH CONTRAST POSSIBLE REQUEST. MY REPORT WAS SENT TO SLOAN BUT MY DOCTOR IS AWAY ON VACATION SO I HAVE BEEN ON HOLD...IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THIS COULD BE RECURRING. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE FLUID.

Fluid retention can be indicative of a cyst, and I agree with the MRI study to further clarify the lesion.

Obtaining a surgical evaluation to consider removal can be considered.  Aspiration or draining the cyst can also be done if there is indeed fluid within it.

Without examination or seeing the lesion, it is difficult to be more specific.

This option can be discussed with your personal physician.
