A second opinion for something like this would go to an ENT.
If there is a need for a biopsy, the ENT would be able to do this, not a hematologist.
If by change this is cancerous (via biopsy), then a hematology/oncology evaluation would be considered.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I agree. Ask the Dr. to step in and step up. Your questions need to be answered. I would want an explaination so there is nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion.
If you have a good relationship with your physician (and hopefully you do) there is absolutely nothing wrong asking her advice concerning a second opinion. I would certainly respect your concern if you were a patient of mine. There is nothing to equal honesty .. good luck. A request of this nature might inspire your Dr. to investigate further to put your mind at ease ..... Good Luck ....
