I have always wondered the same thing even when my RE tells me to resume my normal activities as soonas I leave after the IUI. However, I usually take it easy for about the next three days and do light work outs where my heart rate doesn't go past 140 and I usually do not light any heavy weights. This way I don't feel so lazy and I keep on track with my excercising.
In fact, for the whole 2ww, I keep my heart rate at no higher than 140 and don't push myself in my workouts. It is a little odd, I know but it appeases my sense that I am not doing anything wrong even if I have no studys to back up my thought process for how I exercise during the 2WW.
I just had IUI today and will again tomorrow. I am an aerobics instructor and they advised I take off these next two days and then resume my classes after. So I think if your body is used to something u can go back to it no problem, just don't start doing anything new and listen to your body. If it feels right your ok if not stop.
what do yall think about running during the tww? 3 miles for example? Thanks!
I exercised for 20 mins...walked on the treadmill at the speed of 3.3 miles/hr. Much much less agressive tha what I am, felt a lil strange cramping on my left side after 15 mins....maybe I am just panicing for no reason but my 32 mm follicle was on left side on 31-Jan on CD 14. And I had IUI on CD16 and CD 17...so essentially I should not have felt anything with this low exercise
I've only heard to take it easy after IVF. With "natural cycles" or IUIs, I think exercise is fine, as long as it is not excessive :-)
I have wondered this too. Not necessarily related to IUI, but just exercising after ovulation in general. I've been trying to do some moderate exercise since I've read it can help with fertility. Plus, I'm starting to feel fat from the medicines! Does anyone have any advice? Should you try to take it easy during the 2ww?
Too funny!!! Enjoy your walk tomorrow :-)
ok. so i should stop being lazy and stop using iui as an excuse for not exercising... hehe! 30min walk tomoroow for sure
As long as it is moderate exercise, I don't see why not. When I went in for IUIs last year, they basically told me that I could go about my normal business as soon as I got out of the chair :-)
