i havent started my second cylce of femara yet, i will be starting it next week, hopefully it works this time.
What a coincidence! I was surfing yesterday and found the same site :) I did 4 or 5 rounds of clomid and one bfp on round 2 that ended really early. I kept getting cysts on it so doc switched me to Femara. I will be starting round one in 2 days. I am really hopeful that Femara is the answer.
Hi Candie,
Well as you know this was my first cycle on Femar...and everything looked so bright and shiny...I had 32 mm folli, got a lh surge on my own....had 2 IUIs the days after Lh surge...my progesterone was 27 in mid-leutal...but I saw some spotting last night...so think AF is coming down ...:(
But atleast I know femara works better for my body than clomid.
I will go through the website you are refering too.
Best of luck to all you girls and lots of SSBD
Hi! Femara worked for me!!! BFP last night!! I tried 3 months of 2.5 mg cd 5-9 and that didn't work, my upped dosage of 5 mg cd 3-7 worked the second time! Best wishes to all of you and your BFPs!
Awww thank you so much that is so thoughtful! Well i went and unfortuantely it was endo and they willl most likely have to remove that entire ovary : ( My OB loved the idea of femara though...(she had mentioned lupron before, and i said NOOO) She said we might use it after the surg to supress depending on how bad it looks, otherwise no ovulation induction since it appears i O on my own! But she said its a great drug! thanks for the info! GOOD LUCK this cycle!!!!!
jnitro: I'm sorry the first round of Femara didn't work for you either, but maybe the 2nd time will be the charm for us!!
tina1111: I am so sorry to hear about your disappointment with Clomid. I keep hearing that Femara works a lot better for people, so hopefully that will be the case for you too.
G_S: I'll be hoping that this is just spotting and that AF never fully shows up! I definitely had a rough time too when AF came. It's not that it was anything new, but I think when you are starting to try something different, you're just feeling really optimistic and hoping that it will be the answer. I've heard that you can use Femara as many as 6 times before your chances start to dwindle, so if that is AF coming, there's still a lot more hope out there!
Stillwaiting: As I've said before, Congrats!! You are definitely an inspiration to us all. Thanks for sharing your good news and here's hoping you have a wonderful 9 months ahead!
bny807: I am so sorry to hear that the ultrasound didn't turn out as good as you'd hoped. At least what you have is treatable though and I've seen a lot of people on here in your situation that have gone on to have success stories and I'm sure you'll be one of those people too!
Best wishes to all of you. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. We should definitely keep in touch and share our experiences. It always helps to know you're not the only one in this situation.
I am in my 2ww now. I had my ultrasound and trigger shot last Friday and this coming Friday I have to have my progestrone checked to see if I ovulated. Then the Friday after that I go in for my hcg. I keep telling myself that I will be pregnant this month. My mother in law thinks I will be pregnant with twins and she already has nicknames for them. I am kind of worried because I have been having some cramping and constipation (tmi sorry) But I wish everyone the best of luck its going to work for all of us.
Good morning. I guess today is the day you get your Progesterone checked. I wanted to wish you all the luck in the world. Let me know how it goes.
i am starting my femara in a couple of days, and i really hope this time it works. my dr checked my progesterone on cd17last time and it was a 10.3 and i hope this time around its alot higher then that. wish me luck!
It's good to hear that you are giving Femara another try too. I have been feeling pretty good with it, and it seems to have done what it is supposed to, so I'm hoping that the second time will be the charm for both of us! It's good that your dr is monitoring you. I think that progesterone level is good, isn't it? What is it supposed to be? I called the dr to see if I could have an ultrasound this month, but since I got a positive OPK last cycle, they don't think it's necessary. I still would've liked to have seen some actual follies to make me feel better. I also asked about a progesterone test a few months ago, but she didn't think that was needed either. It's frustrating going to an OBGYN sometimes because they really don't monitor things like they should. Oh well. I guess we'll see what happens and pray that it works this time. Keep me posted on your progress. Best of luck to you!!!
have you started taking femara again? my af is due sunday, so once that comes i will start on cd 3. and my dr said they like to see anything over a 10 for my levels. i wish i was pg but i feel af coming, i keep getting cramps and my bb's are really sore. but i wish you all of the luck, i will keep you posted, keep me posted too.
Yes, I am already finished with it this cycle. I'm on cd 11 today, so I'm hoping for a positive OPK soon. I actually got a positive on cd11 last month, so we'll see what happens today. I was actually just about to go give it a try. I hate doing that at work though! I always run into the bathroom with my little cup and test and pray that no one else is in there. :) What dpo are you? I would definitely still hold out hope if I were you. Sending tons of SSBD your way!
i am 11dpo today. i poas when i woke up but it was bfn, so i really believe my af is coming. did you get preseed to help with the process? i keep thinking that i am never going to get a bfp. i know i should be posotive, but i havent been able to get pregnant in years.
I don't know how many dpo is normal for you, but what symptoms have you had to make you think AF is coming? I'm still holidng out hope for you girl!! We had used preseed a few times when I was on clomid, but we didn't with the Femara. Maybe we'll give that a try this time. What about you? I know what you mean about trying to stay positive. This whole ttc is definitely one big roller coaster ride. You have times when you are so hopeful and just know that this will be your time, and then have to deal with the disappointment when it doesn't work. Then with every new thing you try, you get that feeling that this will be your solution, and then when it isn't, it's so scary to think about what is next. How long have you been ttc? Have the doctors given you any definite answers? We've been ttc about 20 months now and they have found nothing wrong other than a possible ovulation problem. That makes it hard because you can't fix the problem when you don't really know what's going on in the first place! I guess all we can do is keep praying for our little miracle. I always try to believe that everything happens for a reason, so maybe God is just waiting for the right time. I know it's hard sometimes, but we really have to have faith and believe that it will work out for us. It also definitely helps to have someone to talk to, and I'm sure you have your DH for that, but I'm here too if you ever need to vent. My DH has been wonderful, but I know it's just as hard for him and you can't dwell on it and talk about it all the time. We definitely need to keep in touch.
well i have sore bb's and cramps, and i have been really hungry, which i am like this before af all the time.
i have had so many tests taken, and they cant find anything wrong, except i wasnt o'ing on my own. and me and my dh never tried to prevent getting pg, so its been 4 years and still not pg. and its starting to get frustrating. i guess its becasue i dont undertand why, i have had 2 m/c and 1 ectopic and that was 5 years ago, havent be able to get pg since then. i am trying to stay positive.
Yes today was my progesterone check but I will not know anything until Monday. The only thing I am complaining about is being constipated I can not for the life of me have a BM. I just want to cry. I want my results to come back now dang it lol.
Thanks for being the ringleader on this, Candie :-) I will check out that sight as well (I always come here and then get stuck--in a good way)
I am 9dpiui and cd 23. I had my progesterone checked yesterday, and it was in the mid-40s. That is great, b/c before I only had levels like 9-10 before. I also ovulated with 6 mature follicles. I am on a combination of Femara 5 mg cd3-7 and Follistim Injections cd 5-9, plus Ovidrel trigger shot. It IS SO HARD to tell what is going on b/c this is a new regimen, and I just cannot tell if my fatigue/hunger/mood is a result of hormones, pg, or AF. Whatever the case, at least my "numbers" are looking better.
Stillwaiting you are an inspiration to all of us!
To kschnack: Good morning. So today's the day for your progesterone results, right? Hope you get good news!
To jnitro: Any developments on AF yet? Hope you are still in the clear.
To HeathJo: Those progesterone reults sound great compared to what I've seen other people get. That along with seeing 6 follicles is definitely good news! I had the trigger shot with Clomid, but not yet with Femara. I got a positive OPK yesterday, so the Femara really seems to be working. I hope your regimen this month gives you the answer to your prayers. SSBD to you!
well i got my af on saturday, very dissapointed, i am suppose to sart femara today, but im thinking i am going to take a break for awhile.
I called my Dr for my results and his nurse told me that he was in Surgery and that she did not understand how to read my results so she is going to have him call me later this afternoon with my results this sucks because I want to know. i am hoping for good numbers and that everything will look good. I just hate the waiting game its so tough.
Hey Jintro, dont give up...I got my periods on sat too...CD3 today just like u...come one start Femara and we will be in touch
kschnack - Any word on the progesterone results?
jnitro - I understand how you feel, and I can only imagine how hard it would be to stay positive after 4 or 5 years. If the only problem they can find though is that you don't ovulate on your own, you may want to consider sticking with the Femara for a few cycles. If it's getting you to O, then it may be the answer you are hoping for! We are certainly here for you if you want to talk.
G_S - I'm so sorry that AF showed up. Hopefully the second time will be the charm for all of us!
I got my positive OPK on Sunday and my temps went up today, so now it looks like I'm beginning the looooong 2ww!
thanks, that means alot to me, but me and dh have deicided to take a break this month, i will try femara again next cycle.
They told me that it was very low I guess not a good sign. I am suppose to have my HCG done on Friday if AF does not start if it does I am suppose call them and tell them and then the DR will call me on Monday.
