Is there any possibility of the couple to have biological child? Can you please suggest any good clinic/doctor in MD/VA/Washington DC area who might be able to help?
My husband was diagnosed with azoospermia. My OB/GYN had the test done on him and he came back at 0. So he referred my husband to a urologist. There are two main categories that azoospermia falls under. Either it's caused by an obstruction or it's not. In other words something is blocking it (i.e. a varacocle vein that can possible be fixed) or something that is non-obstructive. In my husband's case it was the latter. We found out it was due to his being an xxy male. So in his case it is genetic. When my husband went to the urologist they repeated the test and ruled out the obstructive
category. In other words, he couldn't be fixed because there was nothing to fix. The urologist said that we could attempt to collect from my husband but that quite frankly in our case (and let me state again, in our case) it would be a waste of time and money. We opted for a sperm donor. So, yes it is possible if your relative has an obstructive
cause of the azoospermia that the couple can have a biological child with a little help. I don't know of anyone in that area but what we did was start with my OB/GYN Who referred us to a urologist. Then after the urologist's diagnosis we went back to my OB/GYN who referred us to a fertility specialist. Finding out today if we're pregnant or not. Best of luck to your relative!!!!!!
