and being seen by a fertility specialist, I have been diagnosed with PCOS. After 3 months of clomid and IUI I was lucky enough to get pregnant. I unfortunately miscarried at 5 1/2 weeks (that was the weekend of Nov 30th), it's now December 20. My HCG levels when I first found out that i was pregnant were at 24, a couple days later they were up to 87. The weekend I miscarried they went down to 40, a few days later 25.13 - a few days after that 25.83 -- a week after that 32!! What's going on? Why could my levels be going up?? Shouldn't they be decreasing??
After finding out that my HCG levels were increasing, I have been experiencing ovulation-like discharge
) as well as the regular ovulation cramping that I get (not sure why and if there's any relation?)
I know I can't be diagnosed without you seeing me, however, I'm just curious about what COULD be going on and whether or not I should be worried about this. Also, how long on average, should I be expecting my HCG levels to get back down to 0?
Thank you sooooo much for your help.
First of all, I am so sorry for your loss! I would think your HCG should have gone back down within just a few days, if it was only 40 at the time of your miscarriage
. Was it a natural miscarriage or did you have a D&C? There is a chance after a natural miscarriage that some of the tissue remains in the uterus, and if so that could cause your body to continue producing small amounts of HCG. What did your doctor say?
...or do you think there's a possibility you could have gotten pregnant again?
