Anyone heard of this procedure or have experienced it?
I have to undergo this procedure on Friday. My RE says he wants to check the inside of the uterus for polyps and to make sure everything is fine, because I have 2-3 days spotting
before my periods start. If you have undergone this procedure or have heard about it, please share the information. I want to know how I should prepare myself for it so that I know whats coming? Also what exactly does it diagnose? I have had hysteroscopy and HSG last year...is it something like that. Please help....Thanks in advance
yes, i had it done in november, my re found polyps that weren't seen on ultrasound, that i had no idea i had (then i had to schedule surgery to remove them). it is EASY, not painful
Thanks Alikat....do I need to take tylenol or something before it? Does it feel like US or IUI or HSG?? Should I take the day off to rest or can I go back to work right after the procedure?
i took an advil before and they asked me if i needed one after (i didn't). i did not go back to work, but i could have easily. it took less than ten minutes, in, look and out. truly, no pain.
hmmm....cool. so I guess nothing to worry about and nothing to prepare for. I think I will take half a day off. So what all does this check for other than polyps? How did your RE suspect polyps?
Is that the same as a water sono? If so I had it done. I didn't take anything and I was fine. It was a little uncomfortable but that was it. It was when they injected dye to check my uterus to see if there was any leftover tissue. It was pretty quick...good luck!
I didn't have any polyps. I had a D and C and still had elevated HCG after 8 weeks. He thought I may have leftover tissue. It didn't show anything. The worst part is you have to have a full bladder and then I had to wait for like 45 mins to see hte RE. Drink enough but not too much. Let us know how it goes!
to look for polyps and fibroids, I had some pretty good cramping only while they were injecting the saline (they say if you've never been pregnant the cramping is a little stronger) but was fine as soon as they stopped injecting the saline, no big deal for sure!! good luck!
