burning sensations

I'm 37 weeks today and i've been having these "burning" sensations on && off the last week in my lower abdomen. My doctor said that it's just the baby stretching out my uterus but when i get the burning sensations, i get vagina cramps as well. is this normal or a sign of labor or what?

Hmmm...I'm not really sure. I guess the cramps could just be braxton hicks...but then again, it could be labor cramps. Have you been timing them? If you have 5-6 or more cramps in an hour, they usually suggest you come in to labor and delivery for monitoring, just in case it's the real deal. If it's 4 cramps or less in an hour, it's probably just braxton hicks. At least that's how I've understood it. Not sure about the burning, though... You could always try posting this on one of the pregnancy forums as well. There might be others over there with similar experiences.
