Brown Spotting Anyone??

Hello Everyone,

My cycles have always been irregular starting from 23 day cycles to 27 day cycles but NEVER any spotting in between. I took Clomid from 3/11 to 5/11 and in May I had a tiny bit of spotting only when I went pee, on cd 12 but I believe it was because of a polyp that I had removed on 8/1. Since May, I have not taken any fertility medication. My cycles went back to being irregular. From 24 days to 27 days.

If you take a look at my tracker you will see my cycles and how they have been since April of this year. My last cycle in October was 23 days. The cycle I am currently on began on 10/31 and I had brown spotting out of no where on 11/15/11 (CD 16) It lasted for 5 days (so until CD 20) . CD 17 was the heaviest out of the spotting and it was more of a scanty reddish brown color, all of the other days were complete brown like discharge and mostly when I wiped. Throughout the spotting I had on and off dull cramping.

According to my calculations, if the cycle I am currently on was expected to only be 23 days again, then I would have conceived on 11/9 meaning that spotting on 11/15 could have been the start of implantation. It makes sense that if I was pregnant that I would have implantation bleeding because my doctor said that I have an extra thick uterus lining. I have an ultrasound appointment on 11/25. My doctor had me take a blood test on the first day I started spotting 11/15 but it came back negative. Wouldn't it have been too soon?

I really appreciate anyone's input on my situation. My doctor believes I am having annovulatory bleeding but when I did the research on it, it just didn't seem to match up with what I am experiencing. And I really do not believe it was ovulation spotting. Sigh, I just don't know. I am planning on taking a test on Thursday if I haven't started my new cycle by then.

Again, any input is more than appreciated.

Warm Regards,
Jessica

Hi,

I hope I am not too late for this comment. I myself was on Clomid on 10/2011, this month we took a break because I wanted to see if I will ovulate and get pregnant on my own. Had a normal cycle on 10/25, for the past couple of days I have been spotting brown (which made it CD18,) and up to this day (CD20) I am spotting brown, it was a little on the heavy-ish side this morning, TMI, but I'm not sure why I passed a brown clot. I am hoping this means implantation but just like you, I don't want to get my hopes high. I called the office this morning and my Dr. is out till next week so I won't really get an answer. Tomorrow I'm supposed to test for CD21 progesterone levels and see how that goes. I'm due to go back to Clomid 100mg next cycle if everything goes as planned. Ultrasounds have shown nothing, and blood tests have shown a slight PCOS syndrome (based on my hormonal imbalance.) This would be our 3rd child, and I'm really hoping it can happen as naturally as possible! Good luck to you and baby dust! Hope all goes well with what you have planned.

Thank you so very much for your input. :) I know how to temp n use the opks and everything, we honestly weren't "trying" the past couple of months because our next step was going to be insemination. So we were going to just try then. Ya know? So we have just been bedding whenever we feel like it rather than tracking anything. But this mid cycle spotting was so not normal. I'm suppose to start this week. I'm thinking of testing on Thursday. Sigh... Again, your support is so appreciated girl, more than I can say.

It would definitely have been too soon for the results to come back positive

You have to wait at least 2 weeks from the last time you had intercourse to test.

You should be able to test soon though. Do so with FMU. It will be the most concentrated.

sounds likt implantation to me! I would def. make perfect sense. Do you use any kind of opks or temping to see when you exactly ovulate? Thats the best way to know when/if you do. =]=] i hope you get a BFP real soon!
