First IVF Cycle -- in the waiting period

Hello ladies!  Newbie here -- to everything I suppose.  We have had a roller coaster ride that I am sure many of you are on as well.  When we went for an u/s prior to the retrieval the dr told us that my lining had decreased and there was "something" there and he thought it was adenomyoisis.  He said he would not do the implantation.  Two days later at the retrieval, my lining was up to 8 and he said the "something" had disappeared and we were going forward.  We transferred last Tuesday and now we have 5 days to the test.  I'm just so anxious that maybe something wasn't right?  I don't have any cramping or spotting and I have seen on so many forums that people have that.  I do have sore breasts and some mood swings -- but I think that's just the meds?  How to cope with this last 5 days?  Advice is greatly appreciated!

Michelle

HI Michelle,

Welcome to our board!  IVF is a roller coaster ride and I hope you will find some great advice and help here on medhelp.

I've been through 7 IVF's myself and I can tell you that sometimes I feel nothing and sometimes I feel cramps, experience spotting as well.  Unfortunately, my last IVF ended in a chemical pregnancy so I've never had any success before that as far as implantation goes.

I can however, give you advice to cope while you're in your last five days.  Try to relax as much as possible, not to stress yourself and over think things.  I do this all the time, but I can tell you its much easier if you try to keep yourself busy.  Go for a walk, watch some mindless tv, read a good book.  You've done all you can now and its in God's hands now.

The waiting is the worse and I know you were concerned with the cancelation and then going forward.  I'm not sure what it was that he did see and then disappeared.  But the most important thing is your lining, and if that was good then there shouldn't be any problems.

Let me know how you make out, and I'll be sending tons of baby dust your way!

I'm here if you need me.
