we have been trying for a year for a second baby after a normal first pregnancy, so hoped i would get pregnant normally. and i had irregular periods too, but then after a year of trying and waiting, i have been diagnosed with pcos. i am feelingso my RE has tried inducing ovulation using clomid, so i advise you to see a RE at the earliest. now i am feeling i should have done this way back.
True..I will give it a try
Acdc25, : I dont think that rules apply to you... you need to talk to your Ob about it 2 periods at month? they migh do the test to find out if you are ok ..not just to get pregnant
good luck
My husband is military so I'm not allowed to go see a doctor unless I'm refered and they may not refer me unless we have been trying for a year! I don't like that rule!
Like mentioned above, I would definitely go see an RE if your OB isn't willing to run any tests yet. I'm guessing you're under 35 since you said you needed to wait a year. If you feel as if something is wrong and your body is functioning irregularly, go see another doctor. If nothing else, it's worth the peace of mind!
I have tried ovulation kits and the basil body temp and nothing has worked. This month I thought maybe I was pregnant but this month on the 18th I got my period but it was weird again. It was only brown with a little bit of pink and only lasted a day and a half and now only when I use the bathroom there is a little bit of brown spotting. I'm so confused I have taken 2 pregnancy tests but both negative but if I am I would only be about 2 and a half weeks so I don't know.. I really need to see a doctor!
personally i would not wait a year if i were you especially if you are having irregular periods. i am suffering secondary infertility. I got pregnant very easily with my son but after 6 mos of trying for #2, my dr told me wait another 6 mos - you got pregnant easily before - you'll get pregnant again. That was such precious time wasted! It's now been 2 years and I'm still not pregnant - well i got pregnant through IVF but miscarried. The point is - do not wait especially if you want to be pregnant now. It could take a while to get testing done etc. Don't forget to have your hubby tested either. Good luck!
I know when I started having crazy periods like that I had 2 ovarian cysts and endometriosis. If your dr wont do test see an RE. Especially since you are having the other problems. Good luck to you.
Hi - I think with abnormal periods that seem to have increased over the summer, you should be able to see your doctor now and have some fertility tests done (also checking into what is causing your cycle to be off).
When you say 'you've tried everything' does that mean you have used ovulation predictor kits and are charting your basel body temp.? With unpredictable periods, you should definitely determine if you are ovulating at all... those two methods are 'at home' ways you could possibly tell.
If you are getting your period twice a month, it may mean you are also ovulating twice... or it may mean you are not ovulating at all and there are some other issues going on...
either way I'd recommend seeing your doctor ASAP and/or beginning to do OPKs!
Hope that helps! I know it's supposed to be so easy, but then it gets super complex when we WANT something from our cycles!!!
Baby dust to you!
