Devastated...zero sperm motility

Just received a call from the doctor. After washing the sperm this morning, the motility came back at zero. I was ready to get in the car to go do the IUI when they called. Decided not to go through with it. I feel so bad for my husband he feels like a failure. I guess it's on to IVF. Scared and so sad...I just don't understand how it can be 70% one time and zero the next?

Hi Dina- we are scheduled for our first Ivf attempt this July! Im praying that we have some live ones to work with. We will need to do icsi. I have heard of others having surgery to take out live sperm so it is possible. Keep the faith and research your options! Best to you and please keep me posted!

Jen

*Thanks Lydia23 for the well wishes! :)

I'm getting ready to do IUI #3 but unfortunately the donor I used previously is no longer available.  Now I have to search for another donor and quick.  I blurted out to my husband "this is such a pain in the a**" and he didn't like me saying that.  I swear this process, if it's not one thing it's another.

Im sorry to hear your troubles and I understand 100%!!!! My husband was married previously and him and his ex tried for years and no go.  Turned out he had low count and motility was zero.  No kids meant no marriage to her and they divorced.  Before we got engaged, my husband asked me if I was okay with no children, which I was.  4 months later, we were pregnant.  We had a Healthy beautiful baby boy.  He got another SA, just to see where we were adn his numbers were again- ZERO motility and very low count.
Something just "happen".  We want another but it seems like when you try, it doesnt happen.  Things seem to "happen" when you arent waiting or trying.  I dont quite get it.  Point is, DONT GIVE UP!!!!
We are proof that "things just happen".

Good Luck!!!

Oh I am so sorry to hear about this. I thought motility is something that could improve. Does your hubby smoke? Is he taking any vitamin supplements to help with sperm quality? I know with us morphology may not change, but I was pretty sure that motility and count could be improved. Do some research. Take care and try to stay positive. Keep me posted on how you are doing.

I am so sorry you are going thru this.  I am also doing IVF although it certainly is not fun & you need to be strong it works.  I was succesful although I did m/c after 6 weeks.

Listen to this story:
A girl I met in my office is going thru IVF because the hubby had no sperm so they had to go in surgically which left him out of work for 1 week.
The girl is about 30yrs old & produced 20 eggs 14 feralized...when time for transfer only one was good enough & YES IT WORKED!!  She is now 7 weeks pregnant. How exciting & that will also happen to you!!  Good Luck!!

Thanks for the support- it sure helps to hear from those that just "get it". We've decided to try another IUI next month and see if the sperm quality improves. We're still on the fence about IVF. So many decisions on this journey- we have to take it day by day. I know that God has something very special waiting for us- just wish we can hurry up and get there! :)

Best to everyone!

Hi there,
Im sorry to hear this. Sperm must be ever changing as I conceived my daughter the second month of trying but have been trying forever for our second child. I found out my dhs motility and morphology are lower than they should be. We are seeing a specialist next month and think IVF will be our way forward too.

Good luck to you x
