Word of encouragement, please!

Hello ladies. I am new to this site. Short story about me.  I am 29 and my DH is 33. We have been trying to conceive on our own for the last 4 years with no such luck.  Two years ago I did 6 rounds of clomid and then moved onto 3 failed IUI's.  I took a break from all of the med's and we just "practiced" on our own. We have had all the tests done and everything comes back that we are perfectly fine. We have what is call unexplained infertility. We had come to the agreement that if nothing happened by the end of the year, the we would start IVF come the first of the year. Well, today AF showed up, so it's onto IVF.  I am going to call my RE and make an appointment to meet with the doctors from Iowa City. I am a little nervous about doing IVF. I have a fear of needles for one and second, I am just afraid that it won't work.  My DH and I want a child so badly.  I would just like to hear some of your stories and if you have any words of encouragement, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you ladies!  I am going to call the doctor on Monday to set up my appointment to meet with the doctors from Iowa City.  I want a baby so badly, that I will do whatever it takes. I wish you all the best of luck and I will be updating my status.  Thank you again and Happy Holidays.

Hi.  I'm sorry you've struggled for so many years.  I hope this IUI works for you but if not, it is a good idea to turn to IVF.  Many women here have done it, including myself, so we will be able to help you through it.  I was scared about doing IVF too, but I quickly found that it was the most exciting time in our lives.  This doesn't happen to everyone, but I ended up miscarrying.  We are still on our journey.  Keep us posted, k?  I'm confident you'll be fine during IVF!

So sorry to hear what you've been through.. this whole ttc thing is just an overwhleming all consuming experience for sure!  As the other girls said, your chances with IVF are great, you have your age going for you too, which is wonderful!  I know so many people that have gotten preg with IVF with nothing else worked.. as Helen said.. don't worry about the needles, you really will get used to them right away, when we want something so badly, we'll face our fears huh? : )    GOOD LUCK keep us updated!

Clomid and IUIs did not work for us either.  But I was blessed with a bfp on our first cycle of ivf.  I hope it works for you as well.

Don't be afraid of needles.  You'll get used to them in no time.

I'm currently in the TWW after my second IUI. We have male infertility. If this doesn't work were taking 9 months off and doing IVF. IVF has such a good success rate and if nothing is wrong physically with either of you I think you have a really good shot with IVF. Good luck
