disappointing fertilization report, opinios?

Hello ladies!

I'm so upset! I've been crying, I just don't know what to think. I didn't get the fertilization report that I was hoping for! Out of the 13 eggs they got yesterday, only 4 fertilized and are looking very strong, and two are still waiting on fertilization with a 20% chance of each one actually fertilizing. They were originally going to do a 5 day transfer, but now of course they are wanting to do a 3 day transfer. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of any stories or has any of their own of successful 3 day transfers? I'm also worried that on Sunday morning there won't be any left, they will have stopped growing or something. Encouragment needed!!

Carisa, you have received good info from Helen. Many women had 3 day transfers and ended up with a BFP. Just stay positive and get rest. I know that it is easier said than done but stress is not good.

I'm glad to hear you are not miscarrying!! I did get pregnant my last IVF cycle but miscarried and I remember it being a very stressful time. Good luck with your pregnancy. I'm sure you'll feel much better after you hit 12-13 weeks!!

I will be 8 weeks on Monday.  I developed a hematoma which is bleeding out.  Last week my baby was still OK.  My next u/s is Monday so I will know more what's going on.  
I know that 2ww is very stressful but being pregnant is even more stressful.  So, be prepared.
I am really hoping for your BFP!!!  Hang in there...

I saw that your headline says you are bleeding heavily. Are you ok? How far along are you??

Same here.  Originally we were going to transfer 2 on day 5.  Instead we transferred three best embryos on day 3.  If your embryos look really good on day 3, 8-cell and not fragmented, your dr may still suggest transferring 2, to avoid possibility of triplets.  However, most ladies here transfer 3 embryos on day 3 and 2 blasts on day 5.

You are so sweet! How many did they transfer when you did your day 3?? Originally we were going to do only two embyros, assuming they were going to be blasts, but now I'm thinking three will be a better option. What do you think??

When my nurse called and told me we were going to do a day 3 transfer instead of day 5 I had a breakdown.  I was so upset.  10 days later I got my BFP.  Success rates are actually similar for day 3 and day 5 in part because they typically transfer more embryos on day 3.
Good luck!!!  All you need is one good sticky embryo.
