Thanks for your help too (and everyone who answered my question) !! beckann
Thanks for your help! I have used the ov test everyday for a week and I have tested the same time every day. I had only 1 line for awhile then I started getting 2 lines(not positive). When I started getting a darker line I tested 2x a day. I even switched to a digital test. I am so confused. I never get a postive test result(I have been using the tests for awhile),but my temp always goes up and stays up until I start my cycle. beckann
Try different brands of opks, too. Not all brands are created equal. If your surge is short, or a lower level of Lh, some brands may not detect it. OPKs only work for about 80% of women.
Also, read the packaging. Some brands say use fmu and others say not to. When my fertile window is approaching, I test 2-3x a day. Last cycle, I had a neg opk in the am, a neg around 2pm and then a pos at 6pm. It was neg again in am. If I didn't do the 6pm test, I would have missed it. My monitor rarely shows a surge, too. It is likely there, just missing it. I buy the 20pack of Answer strips or I buy from saveontests dot com. It saves a great deal of $ when testing several times a day.
I temp, too. And, temps always confirm the opks. HTH
Perhaps you missed your surge? It can be really short for some women. If your BBT stays up you probably ovulated.
Just keep temping! If you've taken your basal body temperature up until ovulation, and you then get a sustained thermal shift (usually determined after three higher temperatures in a row), you did ovulate. For some reason, OPKs just don't work for some women. Good luck to you!
I personally don't temp very religiously! I do know that drinking alcohol and sometimes other medications or sleep changes can elevate your temp! Was it elevated consistently for the rest of your cycle? Were you using the OPK's everyday before that??
