Will Yeast Infection affect IVF Implantation

I am 39 years old..I had my first ivf jan 09, it was not successful.  April 1, 2009 we transferred back the remainding 3 frozen embryo's using my natural cycle no drugs or stimulants.. My ovulation test was positive on my 15th (Sun) and 16th(Mon) day.

on weds 18th day of cycle: The eggs were transferred back two days after my ovulation because they were 2 days old.

In the meantime, my husband and i had sex hoping that maybe i could get pregnant naturally as well since i ovulated and one of my eggs was 18mm on day 16 of my cycle..   On the same day of my scan 16th day i started to feel like i was getting a yeast infection on the 2nd day my ovulation.. i told the dr he said he didn't want to give me anything for it and that i should just eat yoghurt and drink pure cranberry juice and stay away from yeast products.

On the day they transferred my 3 embryo's back i still had a yeast infection and now two days later it seems to be worse.. I've been drinking cranberry juice and having yoghurt 2x's a day.  I am wondering if i should be eating more of the yoghurt..  The yeast infection has gotten worse, it's thicker now and slightly yellowish.  Does this mean it is drying up and going away or getting worse?

I am afraid that this will affect my embryo transfer i don't want to use med's since my dr did not advise it?  Am i worrying for nothing or is there something else i can do to clear up the yeast infection.  How many days will it take to clear up with this natural remedy?

Hi guys!  I was interested in your posts because I am on the same path as you.... I am preparing for my 1st ivf.  Right now I have to take a month off because I just got methotrexate d/t hcg not progressing.  I am 39 and have seriously been TTC for 1 year (with help of RE.)

I've done a robotic myomectomy, 3 months of Lupron for negative integrin from uterine biopsy and have had 3 failed IUI's with the last one resulting in pregnancy, which apparently was not progressing..... I hope I did the right thing....  : (

As far as the yeast inf. boulove, I would make sure you get the pure cranberry juice, the one that tastes terrible, and real yogurt.  You can ride this out.... look at how far you have already come...

Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

hi dear iam happy to share my story with u.ok we r TTC from last 5 years,i have staeg1 endometriosis, did leproscopy 3 yrs ago ,i have high prolactin taking medicine for that so its in control.after leproscopy i did 3 IUI's 3 yrs ago result negative, according to my RE i have best uterus, ovarys,& fellopian tube,my AF is regular,i ovulate everymonth, egg quality is good.no idea whats going on,my RE told me some times even after leproscopy endo can reoccur,so she said if 2nd ivf wont wrok they will ask me to do leproscopy again b4 we satrt our 3rd cycle.i pray to god i will get sucess in this time hopefully.ok for my IVF all the carzy medicines & injection started on jan 2009, feb-3 they retrived 25eggs,out of that 15 best embroyos so they decide to go for day 5 blastocyst ,they do day 5 if u have more than 10 embys.so on day 5 only 7 survived, all the 7 were good quality,so my RE decide to transfer only one becasue that was the best top 1 grade she said no one can have better than this it was day 5,grade:5AA,& when they transfered it was hatching which was another good sign, but unfortunately result was negative.i never concived, never. hopefully this is my time too.they checked my bloodwork 12th day counting from day 1 from transfer day.i dont know y they said 17 day for u thats long.i normaly saw in other clinics they start checking from day 10.my clinic they check betwee 12 to 14 days after transfer.now 2nd ivf with frozen i still have 6 day 5 embys.so she want to try natural.she said some time all the medicines which we take 4 eggs to produce more eggs can adverse react for embys.so she want to try this cycle naturaly.hopefuly U & me will get our BFP this time.i can understand as a  personel trainer it must be hard 4 u with out any workout.but i would say dont do even stretching excercise atleast for 2weeks,just go there & just watch people ,u can go for walk but i dont think u should do even stretching ecer---rightnow.its only 2weeks ,u know later on we dont want any thing to blame that oh may be becasue of that & this so just take it easy.currently iam doing acupuncture i go 4 acu twice a week,i heard alot about acu is good 4 ivf ,i can see the change it relax me big time iam so glad iam doing it.u wont belive i use to work in p'ceutical,i was in lab.my background is pharmacist.but MY re said may be all the chemical which i deal with can also affect my fertility so i quit my job,iam home from last 1-1/2 years.still no sucess.
take care, keep in touch.drink lots of fluids.

Hi hope you are doing well.  I am happy to share information with you.  I appreciate the company as well.  I had my first IVF jan 09.  I had 11 eggs only 6 turned into viable embryo's.  My clinic put three of them back on day 2, my dr said he didnt want to chance going to day 5 because chances were i'd lose alot of them.  Fortunately all 6 of my embryo's are grade 4 (1-5 being best) so they're pretty good quality.  Turns out i didnt fall pregnant, however when i took a blood test on day 6 my progesterone levels were high as if my body was taking to the implatation so my dr said he wanted to proceed with Natural Cycle with my last 3 frozen embryo's.

My dr's are doing pretty much same program as yours:

I had two scans day 10 and 13, lining was good.. I tested positive day 15 and 16 went in for scan my lining was 13 and one of my follicles 18mm.. Two days later on day 18 they put the last three frozen embryo's back... They unfroze them the night before transfer.. The Dr. told me they looked very good, two of the eggs turned into 8cells and the other one was still a 4 cell, however, embryologist told me not to worry that the 4 cell is growing slower and that they'll grow more inside my body. The only thing i was prescribed is Cyclogest 400mg (progesterone supositories) have to take twice/day.. I go back 17days after the transfer so april 17th..I'm going to see if they can test me earlier.. how many days after do they do your blood work?

I was told i have a 20 percent chance with frozen cycle.  I went home and had bed rest for first day, watched 7 movies, ugh...  I slept well that night but got up next day worked on computer a little and went grocery shopping and to get medicine for 2hrs out, then back home to relax.

Third day went through old clothes, relaxed and listened to music then went back to work for 4hrs 4th day..

First time i did IVF i did bed rest for 4 days, stayed in the house for 10 days then went out to movies once in a while..

I have to admit i'm still kinda unsure what's best, however, i usually have alot of energy and found that i am now having lower back pain possibly from laying down too much first day..I was told not to exercise but i dont think doing some stretching will hurt..  I'll stretch tomorrow lightly...

Its been difficult for me because im a personal trainer and having to take off 2 1/2 weeks of working out leaves my body tight and stiff.. i feel worse not working out then doing something so i've decided to go back to work monday.. I won't exercise, I'll sit on fit ball while clients exercise but i have to get out of the house or i'll go nuts:)

Happy to have  you to talk to, sorry this is so long..Do you mind telling me how your first ivf went?  how many eggs did you initially have?  You must have had alot to be able to go to the blastocyst stage..  I will pray for you and i'm very positive for you because the success rates for blastocyst are much higher then 8cells embryo's, however, I'm still praying to god that she/he will bless me with baby:)

Lots of sticky vibes and baby dust back at you!!!!

Thank you soo much for the advice.  I had thought doing what you suggested because i read it somewhere online. Fortunately i am feeling much better now.

I really appreciate your words of encouragement.  I wish you all the best as well with your 2nd FET, it's much easier doing it natural.. Not as stressful.  I am being positive and want to also send you all my positive energy.  I've read and also met several women who were very successful on their 2nd attempt with frozen embryo's.  Please do keep in touch should you need someone to talk to while you wait your two weeks out:)
