Dentist and Fertility Drugs (Femara)

G_S
I am on Femara right now and have a dentist appointment for 3 fillings. Is it OK to visit the dentist while you are on fertility drugs or ttc

I would think that would be better in the first two weeks since at least you have drugs to help you ovulate! : )    GOOD LUCK!

well I took a break last month but i didn't ovulate.   While I was taking provera I got my teeth pulled and those pills seemed to work fine.  I will see if I ovulate this cycle as I have been taking numerous antibiotics but I will be done by the time i ovulate.  I don't think it will have an effect.  Just try to get all your dental work done before the tww wait so you don't have to take as many meds.

bny807, torismommy - Thanks for the info. So that means dental work should be avoided in 2WW but should be fine now while taking fertility drugs. I hope the same logic that you mentioned about your body needing to pay attention to implantion, does not apply to your body needing to pay attention to grow the follicle :)

I will call up my dentist and RE to find out what they have to say. I will let you guys know too. But for now I will keep the dentist appointment then. Thanks again

torismommy - Did your follis grow fine when u had all of ur dental works and antibiotics with clomid?

It should be okay.  I had three wisdom teeth pulled two weeks ago and at that time was taking provera.  I thought that it would interfere since I was taking so much medication but then I got AF.  I then got an infection in my mouth and had to take additional antibiotics for the infection and that was around the time I started clomid.  However, I have been doing much research and I can't come up with clomid been counteracted upon by other drugs.  That may not be the case for femara.  Try looking it up and if you are worried just call the dentist and tell them.  I think just like bny said it is more of a worry when you are implanting.  Good luck.

I would think so, though I do aviod the dentsit during the 2ww since bacteria gets in your blood after dental work and I don't want my body paying attention to having to fight that off, when it needs to be paying attention to implanting a bean!!! silly sounding I know! But i think its safe!
