I am an ultrasound tech and can tell heart beats are not picked up until at LEAST 6-7 wks.  Don't worry yet!!!!!!   Also remember you being 5 wks and 3 days by ultraound can be tech dependent and we can measure you again 1 min. later and come up with 5wks
0days.  So don't worry just yet.. Good  Luck and keep us posted!!!!!!

hi girls, thanks for getting back to me. my dr said come back in a week but he doesn't hold out much hope. i am really upset by my clinics attitude. no bloods, just come back in a week so we can confirm it.

A friend game me What To Expect When You're Expecting (I'm not pg yet but she didn't need it anymore).  I read your question yesterday but didn't have an answer for you but as I was reading the book last night I saw that most pregnancies don't show a heartbeat until week 8-10.  So I would wait a week or two and go back and try again.  I'm surprised your doctor didn't tell you that.  Good luck and I'll be praying for you and your little one!

Hello! first of all congrats on the pregnancy!   I"m so sorry that your ultrasound did not show what you had hoped to see (i've been there, and its not fun to say the least).. however there is always a chance.. are you on progesterone ? if so, keep taking it and have them do another scan in one week.. sometimes there are just some slow starters out there and things end up fine.. unfortuantely sometimes thats not the case. but for now i would continue to have hope and have them scan you in one week.. what did your dr say?  cramping can be totally normal in pregnancy, as can spotting..  I"m praying for you that everything ends up just find and you have a strong sticky bean in there! : ) how did your beta's look?  you can always look at misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com for stories of miracles and hope in these types of situations! good luck and your in my prayers!
