Buzzing from laptop

I have a desktop, but recently got a laptop so I could keep my legs up.  I'm having two problems.

First the new "brightscreen" technology gives me eyes a headache.  I'd found that with all laptops when I tried buying one a couple years ago since they've switched from regular LCDs.

Second, I'm getting a buzzing, electrical sensation from it.  I feel it in my arms, and legs, and then it spreads to my neck, etc..  It doesn't feel healthy to be near this.  I have heard of sensitivity to electricty from cfs - but it's the first I've directly experienced it.  It's not the fan, or heat, or harddrive.  A friend sent me a catalog of products to help, I have yet to go through...

Any one else, any comments?

Brandy - I know now exactly what vibration feeling you're talking about, that i get sometimes.  I think it's that the muscles are weak/fatigued and the latic acid builds up, so they tend to shake like a body builders.  It's not quite that, but in that family...  It would be funny and make me laugh if it wasn't so odd feeling.

SFbay - I do like the older macs much better than pc laptops, vision-wise.  (At the time I was shopping I hadn't noticed the buzz.  Actually I had but was overwhelmed enough that it didn't register in my mind.)  My brother in law is a mac enthusiast and expert.  As an ex-programmer, I've got to agree with him.  MS (microsoft) makes me crazy.  I'm not as sure with the newer macs vision-wise, and opted for a desktop (actually bought one and swapped with my mom's since I knew her's was fine with me).  I got this pc because it was heavy discounted and my dad had already bought it.  And it was a 2nd computer so I didn't have to count on it.  I may need to go back to mac shopping - especially now that they run windows stuff.  Can't express how frustrated I get with Win & MS...and the Vista on this...  With each release of Windows I feel like someone is ADD and just rearranging their desk, instead of improving function.  (There's so much they could do.)

UK2 - I bet the electric blanket buzz is the same thing!  The CFS nerves are just not normal.  I also pick up on a very low sound vibration that thankfully my doctor didn't laugh at me, and finally had another patient complain of the same thing.  There's a formal name for it that a neurologist labeled it with.  Well, if you come to some realzation over the blanket buzz, or knowledge on it - let me know.  The buzzing sounds the same as Brandy's and mine vibrator one.  I've had that one on the end of the nose - distracting.  There was a post a while ago about jerking.  I didn't have much to add, but some people had some real knowledge and insights....

Aren't we an eclectic bunch of buzzying nerveous system symptoms?  Thanks for answering all!

Hi,

I've thought alot about your buzzing thing and i'm sure i get a simular thing from my electric blanket i know that sounds mad, but as i lay there at night i can feel it, and i dont get it with the electric blanket off, maybe its the heat?

I've also had the buzzing in my hips, legs and other places, i have a tingling at the end of my nose today which is very annoying.

Does CFS cause jerking of the body and limbs? as i get that alot.

Hope you are well.

Samantha

I couldn't sit for a desktop for long and have used my Mac laptops for years. Perhaps it's a PC vs. Mac problem...LOL kidding of course.  Sorry you are dealing with this.

Sometimes I use sunglasses in the house, as I am prone to migraines. Maybe that will help.

Today I have numb fingers and toes and have noticed that my fingers have swelled. My wedding ring was so loose from losing so much weight from pain that I was going to have it sized again.  Today it is not twirling around and seems to fit perfectly.  Is this normal?

Hi Brandy!  I've had buzzing sensations as part of the cfs.  It's common.  This is different - it's clearly electrical (or chemical?) from the computer.  Can you describe your buzzing more/better?

Thanks for answering : )!  I hope you are having a good day.
