I just started on this and it also made me very sick. I am on day 3 and I tell you if this is how it is going to be I will just be in pain. I didn't sleep a wink last night. My temp was up and down. I am calling my doctor. I will say this though, I am in less pain. I just can't take being sick.
Hi, I'm new here, but have had Fibro since sometime in the early part of 2001, but was not "officially" diagnosided until around 2004-2005.. Anyways amoung every other drug in the millions they Dr. s love to try on us "lab rats" I was given cymbalta almost a year ago along with Lyrica, to add to the Prozac, Fentynal, Soma, Feldine(sp??) cocktail i was already taking. I stopped taking it within two months!
Sadly for me it made me nauses, VERY moody (down right mean and nasty to people, VERY unlike me EVER even on my worst crying my eyes out, can't move without screaming days) , totally on edge (jumpy like someone was out to get me), dark DARK brown smelly yuck urine, that is when i could actually go, gasy, yuck mouth, very dry mouth, and never wanted to eat..
I guess it's not for everyone and you will have to just try it and find out if it works for you. I know i wont EVER try it again..
Actually cymbalta is not just an antidepressant. Cymbalta works to relieve fibromyalgia pain is not entirely understood but it's thought that by increasing the activity of two naturally-occurring substances -- serotonin and norepinephrine -- it suppresses pain.
I have been on Cymbalta for several years and know that it does help. I was unable for a period of four or five months to obtain cymbalta so ran out. I noticed that my pain increased so for whatever it is worth; it does help in some way.
