I had the same thing happen to me many years ago. The wrist splints are a great idea. It was suggested by my Dr. to wear them 24/7 for 2 weeks. Removing them only for showering. After 2 weeks I took them off and haven't had a problem since. The only problem I see is finding out what is causing the pain so it doesn't happen again. I got mine from mopping on my job. Good Luck Lexi.
I had similar symptoms - had carpal tunnel surgery - helped only a little. Then had neck surgery C7-C8 and that helped also. Have you had any wrist or neck injuries? I would first get evaluated for carpal tunnel (they do tests with electrodes in Dr's office). Then if that's been ruled out, have a MRI of your neck to see if you might have a pinched nerve or herniated disc in your neck pressing on the nerves that go to your hand/arm. Good luck.
They are still hurting so bad. The typing is kind of okay, but I can't hold a pen. The position hurts. It's on both hands. The wrist pain has been going on for a while, I've just never had it this bad. I helped out in another dept last night that had me lifting and pushing carts and trays, and I think I've overdone it.
I just wish it'd go away, because I can't even do my job today...
I get it in my right hand at night/morning wakes me sometimes , years ago they said it was carpel tunnel I dont think it was, its either Fibro or Lyme .....
Have you tried wrist splints at night? I know alot of people do well with them. It kind of keeps your hands/wrists in a better position all night and you might not have as much numbness in the morning.
