I am a 46 year old woman who has been experiencing hand and foot pain almost constantly for 3 months. At times my feet get cold and then they start to burn. There is no warmth but the palms and soles turn a reddish color. The reddish color does not involve my arches of my foot. This can happen when I have been walking but can also happen upon awakening. The pain is usually temporarily relieved by warming them (either gentle massage or placing them under a cover). My hands ache especially when I have to drive (holding the wheel) or hold the telephone. I have been put on neurontin for this with minimal improvement.
I also have random aches and pains such as right sided neck pain (believed to be muscular, however I do have swollen glands that keep coming and going in my neck), occasional back pain, and I have had a sore throat for almost 4 weeks. I have muscle twitches as well.
Lately, my tongue has been extremely dry and irritated (as if I burned it sipping hot coffee). I have been drinking more water, but this has not helped. Also, I have had recurrent cyts in my underarm and vaginal area (sebaceous cysts). I am on antibiotics now.
I have had alot of bloodwork done (including rapid HIV and Lyme, but no mononucleosis test though) which only revealed vitamin D deficiency. I have been taking replacement and since then some of the aches and pains have gone away. I have also had Xrays of my feet and EMG/NCV which showed mild carpal tunnel. Neuro says MAYBE FIBRO but Rheum says NOT FIBRO, something else. Any thoughts anyone? I am miserable.
