After many years of fibro I know that it can affect a person a certain way and then that symptom might disappear and then reappear months or years later. At one time I felt like the skin on my legs was burning - fabric from pants or skirts would be unbearable. Another time the skin on my back burned! I couldn't sit or lean against anything. I didn't associate it w/fibro at first until I went to a dermatologist and tried to discribe the pain/sensation/feeling of the skin on my back. she took one look and told me to put skin cream on as if I had dry skin (which I did not!). Finally I went to a rhuematologist who explained that this was one more way fibro can manifest itself. The pain did go away on its own after a few days to my relief. I hope this info helps even if just to let you know you are not alone with this.
Ditto ! I know that sometimes by the time a person has come to this place, that they are worn out and desperate. Many of us here have found this place in desperation as well and we understand and are here for you.
I know several have tried to connect with you since you've posted. We hope that you are able to get back to us soon. Take care.
Does the burning pain come and go, or is it constant? Is it all of your skin, or more in some areas than others? Also, since you said it feels like it's from the inside out, does it feel deep into your body...like deep flesh and muscle or just the surface?
I am just wondering if it's what I have recently been through with severe nerve pain, but I also wonder what your age or hormone balance is since hot flashes can feel something like you have described, but that pain was different from the nerve pain and does come and go.
I am so sorry you are having these problems. Have you seen a doctor with it yet? Has anyone diagnosed you with Fibromyalgia or suggested that you might have it?
I am pretty new here, but if you can answer some of these questions, there are so many others on this forum who have more experience and lots of good knowledge to offer you if you could give a little more information.
I am taking Tramadol (Ultram is brand name) for pain. It has helped me greatly and helped me get through my recent flare.
This forum helps....hang in there!
